Estate

Beyond your front door, a serene environment awaits.

Somerset Lakes and its surroundings offer countless activities for you and your family to enjoy. The estate is proud to have Reddam House Somerset on-site, which facilitates effortless living with easy access to education. The world-class security system ensures a safe environment to live in, while enjoying the estate’s amenities. Our state-of-the-art indigenous nursery is a never ending supplier of Somerset Lakes’ award-winning landscaping.  The five-star clubhouse, with sparkling swimming pool, overlooks the six-hectare lake, backed with the stunning scenery of the Helderberg.

Both chic and relaxed, Somerset Lakes ve-star clubhouse is everything you need in an after-hours haven.

The clubhouse embodies a sophisticated but laid-back atmosphere, making it a perfect destination for after work drinks and sunset braais with family and friends. Offering spectacular views of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountain Range, the recreational hub features communal barbecue and picnic areas, expansive timber decks with pergola elements for shade, a swimming pool with natural rock features, and a dedicated children’s playing area. Alongside the clubhouse is a sandy lakeside beach with a boathouse to store water sport equipment.

A technically advanced security system has been implemented at Somerset Lakes to ensure that residents come home to complete peace of mind.

No expense has been spared to provide the best security features currently available in South Africa. The security measures include electrified and alarmed perimeter fencing with anti-dig foundations and over 70 high-definition surveillance cameras. These are monitored around the clock from the hi-tech, fully manned guardhouse, and linked to a rapid response team and 24-hour guarding and patrols. Biometric fingerprint access control provides added convenience.

Somerset Lakes is home the world-class private school Reddam House Somerset.

The prestigious Reddam House opened its doors at Somerset Lakes in 2016 and caters for learners aged 1 to 18 years, with an international reputation for providing education excellence. Reddam House Somerset is specifically designed to inspire students to achieve their maximum potential in a progressive academic setting. Each child’s individuality and talents are carefully nurtured. There is also a shared focus on academic, cultural and sporting achievements. This means students are encouraged to excel in their chosen school subjects and sports whilst simultaneously embracing the creative and performing arts. All schools provide internationally recognised qualifications.

In the embrace of dramatic mountain ranges and the False Bay sea, Reddam House Somerset will provide exclusive accommodation for its students with all the benefits and care of a home-away-from-home in 2019.

During after school hours, students will be able to make use of the excellent estate community gym, clubhouse and surrounding facilities such as trails for walking, jogging and cycling, as well as school facilities such as the sports gymnasium, swimming pool, IT Centre, sports fields and tennis courts. Reddam House boarding facilities are modern, yet are underscored by old-fashioned values that include having good manners – being punctual, respectful of seniors and elders, as well as helpful and clean and tidy. We are very excited to offer this wonderful facility that will both nurture and inspire our students and create a family environment for them away from home.
